Free tennis sessions are set to return to the public tennis courts in St Thomas, Exeter, the City Council has announced.

The Tennis For Free (TFF) sessions will start up again on Saturday 5 March on the City Council-run courts at Cowick Barton Playing Fields.

The sessions will run from 8am until 8:45am for families (parents and their children) and 9am to 10am for adults, every Saturday throughout the spring and summer.

The sessions will be delivered by Tennis for Free Lead Coach Steve Ashton.

Steve said: “I can’t wait to get back on court again at Cowick Barton for the Tennis For Free scheme.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed delivering these sessions over the last four years. The sessions are for people of all ages and abilities and all equipment is provided. I look forward to seeing you there.”

Cowick Barton isn’t the only place in Exeter where the TFF sessions are being run.

Sessions also take place at the City-Council run courts in Heavitree Pleasure Grounds. The sessions which have been continuing over the winter, are run by LTA coach Bradley Rickard, and take place on Saturday mornings between 10am and 11am.

Bradley said: “Heavitree is currently the highest attended session in the country and we'd happily welcome more new faces!”
