Tree felled in Pinces Gardens after becoming dangerous

Tree felled in Pinces Gardens A description of where the tree had failed

A large Lawson Cypress tree in Pinces Gardens, St Thomas, has had to be felled after it became a high risk to public safety and property.

Tree officers became concerned when they saw the roots of the tree lifting the ground around it during high winds.

Because the tree was in poor health and the structural roots had started to fail it was decided to remove the tree before it came down without warning. The tree was leaning over a fence and a nearby road and represented a danger to nearby people.

The City Council values its trees highly and doesn’t take the removal of trees lightly but has to regard public safety as the number one priority when assessing trees.
