People encouraged to continue following government guidance Continue following government guidance

People are being encouraged to continue wearing face coverings when visiting Council buildings like the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter City Council has announced.

From Monday (19 July), England moves to step 4 of the government’s Roadmap out of Lockdown.

The legal requirement to wear a face covering in all settings will be lifted from Monday, however the government expects and recommends that people wear face coverings in crowded areas such as public transport.

A spokesman for Exeter City Council said: “Some of the things we have relied upon to keep us safe are changing on July 19.

“At the same time, things will be busier, and Covid-19 will still be around. Many people have yet to be vaccinated.

“We recommend everyone follows government guidance on face coverings, hand hygiene and maintaining space where possible.”
