Memorial tree plaque pays tribute to victims of Coronavirus

A plaque has been unveiled in Exeter next to a memorial tree planted to remember those who have sadly lost their lives during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Cllr Trish Oliver unveiled the plaque in Northernhay Gardens next to the Dove memorial tree.
The inscription on the plaque reads: “This tree was planted in memory of everyone who lost their lives during the Covid-19 pandemic. March 23 2021.”
Lord Mayor Cllr Trish Oliver said: “The tree is a living tribute to all those who lost their lives during the pandemic, many people died alone without their families being present.”
Council Leader Cllr Phil Bialyk added: “We hope in time people coming to the park will stop and remember those that sadly passed away as a result of the pandemic.”
