Online and face to face food hygiene courses on offer
Published: 18 April 2023
Anyone who could benefit from a food hygiene course and wants to obtain an industry-recognised certificate is asked to contact the City Council.
The Council is running a number of Level 2 Awards in Food Safety and Hygiene this year.
The Royal Society of Public Health accredited courses are taught by Environmental Health Officers with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience.
There will be plenty of opportunity to answer food safety questions throughout the day.

- 3 May 2023
- 5 July 2023
- 20 September 2023
- 22 November 2023
The cost of attendance is just £60 for a full day per person. There’s free parking at the Matford Centre and refreshments are available throughout the day.
The topics covered for the Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene course include:

The Course ends with a short multiple-choice test where candidates will need to achieve 20 correct answers from the 30 questions to obtain the Royal Society for Public Health’s Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Hygiene.
Some of the comments received as feedback from previous courses include: “learnt far more than I thought” and “friendly and approachable tutor made the course enjoyable”.
Anyone preferring to learn at their own pace, an e-learning Level 2 course can be provided (£20 per person) and for managers and supervisors, Level 3 (£125 per person) food safety courses.
It’s a legal requirement that food handlers are supervised and instructed and/or appropriately trained - these qualifications are an ideal way of helping people comply with this requirement.
