New Exeter start-up businesses showcased at prestigious SW Innovation Expo

The City Council is making sure that Exeter’s best new start-ups are showcased at a prestigious business exhibition in the city.

The Council is supporting (as Exeter Live Better) the Most Interesting Start-Ups category at the SW Innovation Expo at Sandy Park, on 14 October.

The prestigious SW Innovation Expo is for innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses, academics and investors to come together and explore cutting edge technology developed in Devon, Cornwall, The Isles of Scilly and Somerset.

Founded by lead partners University of Exeter, University of Falmouth and University of Plymouth, the event is a metamorphosis of the successful Venturefest SW, which ran in 2016 and 2019.

The event is focused on demonstrating the cutting edge technical and intellectual innovations that could be transformative for businesses.

Delegates will see the latest innovation in action, find out how technology can transform their business, learn from innovators, meet investors and emerging talent.

Dhiraj Mukherjee, an experienced investor in tech start-ups and co-founder of Shazam, the world’s first mobile phone-based music recognition service, will be a keynote speaker at the event.

Sponsored by Michelmores, the keynote address will focus on his experience of pitching to investors, advice for start-up businesses and entrepreneurs and an insight into emerging technology.
