General Election Communication Notice

Through our social media channels, we like to keep our residents and communities informed about what’s going on in Exeter.

With the General Election scheduled for Thursday 4 July 2024, we have now entered the pre-election period and we are scaling back our communications in line with the Local Government Association (LGA) pre-election guidance.

This means during this time, we will ensure that our communications do not offer undue influence or advantage to any party or candidate, in line with the Local Government Association (LGA) pre-election guidance: Pre-election period | Local Government Association

As highlighted in our social media house rules: exeter.gov.uk/socialmedia we ask you not to post any comments on our page which promote party political messages or election candidates or parties during the pre-election period.

We will continue to keep you updated with what’s going on in Exeter and information on the elections on Thursday 4 July.
