Community groups and organisation invited to take part in Jubilee celebrations Take part in the Jubilee celebrations

Exeter is getting ready to party with a summer street party in the city centre in June and the City Council is on the look-out for people to get involved.

The celebration is part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and will take place in the High Street on Thursday 2 June, from 11am until 3pm. Residents and visitors are welcome to attend.

Organisers Exeter City Council will be setting up benches and tables in the High Street for people to enjoy the festivities. There will be live music and people can bring their own picnic or click and collect from nearby restaurants. Please note that the consumption of alcohol on the High Street is not permitted.

As part of the celebrations and in partnership with The Battalion of the 6 Rifles, there will be a Military and Community ‘village’ on the Cathedral Green.  Community groups, dance schools, theatre groups and majorettes are being invited to join in. To get involved, groups are encouraged to register their interest on the City Council website at: https://bit.ly/3rnky91

Spaces will be limited and organisers will try to ensure there is a good spread of organisations from across the city.

Groups and organisations will be required to submit all the necessary health and safety documentation for their activity including the necessary risk assessments. Applications need to be submitted by Friday 22 April.

The City Council is also keen to hear from anyone who can help with the making of bunting for the High Street.

Anyone planning an event in their neighbourhood is urged to get in touch with the City Council, so it can be added to the events listing on its website https://www.visitexeter.com/whats-on/platinum-jubilee-celebrations-in-exeter
