Businesses in Exeter urged to consider the environment on Earth Day Earth Day 2024

On international Earth Day businesses in Exeter are being urged to consider their environmental credentials with the help of the City Council.

Earth Day is an annual event which draws attention to environmental protection. This year’s theme is Planet vs Plastic.

Businesses are being encouraged to prioritise sustainability and demonstrate a genuine commitment to reducing their carbon footprint. It is both great for the planet and also a great way to win customer loyalty.

Exeter City Council’s Green Accord is an environmental accreditation scheme aimed at small and medium enterprises, but inclusive for any size or type of organisation that recognises and rewards sustainable business practices.

It is a great way for businesses who are already prioritising the environment to evidence and showcase environmental action to customers and clients.

For businesses who are at the beginning of the decarbonisation journey and aren’t sure how to get started, the Green Accord has 24 actions to take to reduce energy consumption, business costs, and most importantly – greenhouse gas emissions.

Visit the website https://www.green-accord.co.uk/ today to create an account and begin the online self-assessment.
