Art Week Exeter in full swing with events at venues across the city Art Week Exeter

Art Week Exeter has been taking place at venues across the city – and a host of events are planned throughout the weekend.

The artist-run organisation co-ordinates, curates and produces events, workshops and opportunities for people to connect, learn and feel inspired through art, art making and creative activity.

The annual city-wide Art Week festival aims are to widen access to, and participation in, the many diverse forms of contemporary and traditional art in Exeter.

It recognises Exeter as a cultural destination and facilitates inspirational and experimental events and creative processes to happen in the many vibrant buildings, commercial and public spaces across the city.

A host of activities are taking place throughout the city on Saturday 17 June and Sunday 18 June.

Among the highlights is the Art Car Boot event at Piazza Terracina, Exeter Quayside, on Sunday, from 10am to 2pm. The event traditionally allows artists to let their hair down and enjoy a cocktail or two, provided this year by Bar Nova.

A feast of cultural offerings will be on sale, from fine prints to handcrafted wares. There will be ‘cottagecore’ upcycled art, collaged textiles, ceramics, paintings and some old-school analogue photographs.

Anyone looking for something special and hasn’t yet found it in any of the exhibitions or other shows in the city, this one’s for you.
