6 Things We Love About St Sidwell's Point

6 Things We Love About St Sidwell's Point St Sidwell's Point

The wait is nearly over for the opening of St Sidwell’s Point leisure complex, Exeter City Council’s latest project! As the centre is due to open next year, we’ve highlighted our favourite parts about the new building - we can’t wait for the doors to open!

1. The swimming pool has moveable floors

At St Sidwell’s Point, not only will the state-of-the-art swimming pool have 8 lanes, a confidence pool and learner’s pool – but both pools will have moveable floors! (Yes, you read that correctly!) Meaning that learning to swim will be accessible to all who visit. Fun fact: the water quality of the pool is expected to be the best in the country, due to a special filtration system!

2. The gym has over 100 stations

For those itching to get back into the gym this year, this one is for you. The gym at St Sidwell’s Point will have over 100 stations, a designated free weights area plus group exercise zones – including an indoor cycling studio and two fitness studios!

3. You can relax and unwind at the spa

It’s safe to say that we all deserve a little pampering in 2022! Luckily for us all, the new complex will have top spa facilities and a health suite - perfect for a treat with friends or when we need a little bit of time to relax after a workout. Book us in for a facial and massage please! Not to mention you’ll be able to retreat to the rooftop terrace and the private bar area to extend your unwinding visit…

4. Parents will be able to enjoy a bit of ‘me time’

At St Sidwell’s point, they’ve thought of everything. The brand new centre will feature a crèche – allowing parents to take some time for themselves within the pool or gym, whilst giving them the peace of mind that their child is in perfectly safe hands. Parents can also accompany their children to the colourful soft play area afterwards, to burn off some extra steam!

5. You can grab a bite to eat after your session

After you’ve built up your appetite during your workout or swim, you’ll be able to visit the on-site café - only a few steps away on a separate floor! Sit back and relax with a refreshment from the nutritious café!

6. The complex is located in Exeter’s city centre

If you haven’t noticed the magnificent site already - St Sidwell’s Point is located where the previous Exeter Bus Station stood, right in the heart of the city centre! This means that the complex, which has a very large capacity, will be easily accessible to all residents. Don’t forget there will be a new and improved bus station too – so visitors who arrive by bus will land in the middle of all the excitement!
