Published: 31 July 2020

Topsham Ferry Topsham Ferry

The Topsham Ferry is back and will be running this weekend for the first time this season.

The ferry, which runs between the landing in Ferry Road, Topsham, and Topsham Lock on the western bank of the river, will run throughout weekends in August.

The ferry will be running reduced passenger numbers due to social distancing requirements, so waiting times may be longer.

Those using the ferry are required to queue at the signs posted at the top of the causeways and not on the causeway itself, to allow passengers to disembark.

Passengers will be required to handle their own bicycles and pushchairs and have the correct change ready, not card payments.

A one-way fare is £1.30 per person, with under-5s travelling free of charge. Dogs, bicycles and pushchairs etc. are charged at 70p. Customers with electric bicycles may have to wait to be taken separately if the ferry is busy. A water taxi to other vessels is available for £5 subject to the Ferryman’s discretion.
