Response to Exeter Plan welcomed as 12 week consultation closes The Exeter Plan

After 12 weeks the public consultation on the Exeter Plan has now closed.

The Exeter Plan will be the blueprint for future development in the city, detailing where development should go, what it should look like and how it should work alongside key issues such as climate change and housing.

Cllr Phil Bialyk, Leader, Exeter City Council Leader, said:  “Thank you to everyone who has taken part and given their time to feedback on the Exeter Plan. This has been an important consultation and I am delighted that so many people have contributed.

“The Exeter Plan document will shape the city over the next 20 years, the policies in it will affect everyone and make sure we get the high quality development which the city needs and allowing us to push back on proposals which are not appropriate for Exeter.”

Officers from the Council have spoken to more than 1,000 people at the 15 face to face roadshow events, in addition to taking the Plan to young people, community groups and city stakeholders.

The Local Plans team will now begin the process of collating and analysing almost 4,000 contributions from residents, businesses and organisations across the city.

A further public consultation, on the final draft Exeter Plan, will take place next year.
