Remembrance Sunday Service will be live streamed

Published: 5 November 2020

Virtual Remembrance Service

Exeter will stream a virtual Remembrance Sunday Service on Sunday morning.

The Service will be streamed live on Facebook for people to watch and will include the laying of wreaths by various dignitaries, which have been filmed in advance.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Exeter City Council and Devon County Council supported by the 6th Battalion of the Rifles, made the hard decision not to conduct a live public service in the city for the safety of all those that would attend.

Instead the Service will be live streamed on the City Council’s Facebook page from 10.59am on Sunday (8 November).

Special thanks go to The Salamanca Band & Bugles of The Rifles & Director of Music and Exeter College’s UAL Diploma Media & Performing Arts Team who supplied some of the footage.

Exeter Cathedral will be streaming their own Cathedral Service from 10.45am on Sunday. Devon Council will be holding a small flag raising ceremony at County Hall on November 11 that will be live streamed on their Facebook page.
