Proposed changes to the road layout in Exeter City Centre

Devon County Council wants to hear your views on the proposed changes to the road layout in the city centre resulting from the redevelopment of Exeter Bus Station site, a project which is being funded by Exeter City Council.
Draft orders, plans and statement of reasons may be viewed at https://devon.cc/exeterbusstation from 2 July until 6 August.
Objections and other comments specifying the proposal and the grounds on which they are made must be in writing to the County Solicitor, County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter EX2 4QD or via https://devon.cc/exeterbusstation to arrive by 6 August 2020.
In summary, the proposed changes to the road lay out involve:
- Restricting parts of Cheeke Street and Bampfylde Street to Buses, Taxis and Private Hire vehicles
- Changes to traffic movements in Belgrave Road so that only cycles may enter from Cheeke Street and all traffic must turn left onto Cheeke Street (towards Paris Street roundabout)
- Introduction of bus parking spaces on Bampfylde Street (between Cheeke Street & Summerland Street) for layover parking
- Introduction of a loading bay on Paris Street adjacent to the leisure centre
Please note that additional changes in the area are also proposed, as a result of the adjacent student developments. These are being consulted at the same time due to the proximity and are not part of the Exeter City Council scheme.
The TROs are being advertised by the County Council, as the Highways Authority, in the usual way, through the issuing of public notices on site and in the local press.
However, the ongoing coronavirus restrictions could mean than some people may not have the same access to this information as normal. The Council wants to ensure as many people as possible get the opportunity to comment on these important changes, should they wish to do so.
