Popular paddling pools reopen

The paddling pools at Heavitree Pleasure Ground have reopened to the public.

The popular pools were drained, cleaned and refilled this week after reports of a child defecating in the water.

Cllr Ruth Williams, Lead Councillor for Place and City Management, said: “It’s great to have the pools back open again particularly during this hot period of weather.

“We take the health and wellbeing of those who use the facility very seriously and closed the pool as soon as we heard that the water had been contaminated. Thanks to the hard work and diligence of our staff, the facility is now back in use and we look forward to seeing lots of people enjoying it again.”
