Partnership aims to make Exeter city centre a safer place for all Safer Central Exeter

Safer Central Exeter is a partnership including the City Council, police, businesses and community groups which will invest funding provided by central government to help make the city centre a safer place to live, work and play.

The investment will support crime prevention activities both on the streets, for business owners and in people’s homes, particularly in higher crime areas.

It will:

  • Focus on improving CCTV coverage and install better street lighting
  • Help businesses and charities to communicate better with each other by improving the radio network
  • Offer grants to residents to better secure their homes and launching new neighbourhood watches

There will also be free crime prevention training courses.

Safer Central Exeter will work with the community to help reclaim and improve public spaces to deter offending and promote personal safety.
