Part of Mary Arches Street Car Park in Exeter is set to reopen to the public tomorrow (Wednesday 5 August).

The outside ‘surface’ area of the City Council-run car park will be available to use from 8am on Wednesday, whilst the multi-storey sections will remain closed until parking demand increases sufficiently.

This pay-on-foot site will be available 24 hours a day, with a charging period of 8am to midnight. A total of 51 parking bays plus six designated disabled parking bays will be available to use.

Opening up the site will help supplement parking currently available for Fore Street businesses: numerous on-street bays plus car parks at Smythen Street, Market Street, Harlequins and Bartholomew Terrace.

Also the outside section at Mary Arches Street will provide additional parking for those with over height vehicles like builders’ vans, as the surface section has no height restrictions.
