Normal charges for car parks resumed from today (Monday 1 June)

Published: 1 June 2020

Car parks in Exeter run by the City Council have opened up again in preparation for the opening of shops and businesses over the coming weeks.

Normal charges for the car parks resumed from today (Monday 1 June).

Reopening the car parks is one of the first steps back to some form of economic recovery for the city. And with people being advised by the government to avoid using public transport, it’s important that car parks are available for those who can’t walk or cycle to work.

Free parking for NHS staff in pay and display car parks, will continue, provided the nationally agreed permit is displayed. Registered carers displaying the Devon County Council parking exemption notice will also be honoured in the Council’s Pay & Display car parks.

The John Lewis Car Park has reopened but the Mary Arches Street Car Park will remain closed until demand increases sufficiently.

John Lewis and Guildhall Car Parks will close at 8pm until the evening economy resumes.
