People in Exeter can now recycle their Pringles tubes and other similar containers in bring banks around the city.

Exeter City Council has launched the new recycling service in partnership with the Alliance for Beverage Cartons & the Environment (ACE UK).

The bring banks will take paper containers with metal ends, such as Pringles tubes, hot chocolate, nuts and other products.

The new service is the result of an agreement between ACE UK, which operates the dedicated food and drink carton recycling service available in Exeter, and packaging manufacturer Sonoco Consumer Products Europe.

Cllr David Harvey, Lead Councillor for City Management, said: “I’m delighted that people can now recycle these containers at bring banks around the city.

“Previously paper containers with metal ends such as Pringles tubes could not be recycled through council waste collections, but we were keen to take this opportunity to include them. The residents of Exeter have always responded well to the different recycling schemes we’ve implemented, and we hope that they will take full advantage of this new service.”

Exeter’s specialist carton recycling banks, where paper containers with metal ends can now also be recycled, can be found using the Council’s recycling banks map on our website: www.exeter.gov.uk/recyclingbanks.
