Have your say on proposals for a Devon devolution deal Devon devolution deal

People are being urged to have their say on proposals for a devolution deal designed to devolve more powers to the county from Whitehall.

From the furthest tips on Devon’s northern and southern coast lines, to its boundaries east and west, the county of Devon, including Torbay, is set to have a new relationship with central government.

Decision-making powers until now made by others at Whitehall are getting ready to transfer from London to Devon and Torbay.

Important decisions will be made locally about local issues that mean most to people in Devon and Torbay, including housing, employment and the local economy.

The devolution deal does not involve local government reorganisation or an elected mayor.

Key sectors within Devon are being asked what they think about the proposal. Residents are also being urged to have their say.

Visit the Devon and Torbay Devolution Deal website to read the draft proposal and to have your say - Devon and Torbay's deal - Devon and Torbay Devolution Deal (devontorbaydeal.org.uk)

The deadline for comments is Sunday 24 March.
