‘Go-live’ dates announced for Covid business grants

Published: 26 January 2021

Grants Update Grants

Businesses in Exeter will soon be able to apply for a range of ‘lockdown’ grants.

The news follows an announcement by the Chancellor in early January of new lockdown grants to support businesses during national restrictions. This includes top-up grants for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses worth up to £9,000 per property to help businesses through to the Spring, and a discretionary fund to support other impacted businesses.

Cllr Ollie Pearson, Lead Councillor for City Centre and Corporate Services thanked businesses for being patient whilst the Council put in progress the steps needed to get the application process up and running.

“We know these grants are a vital lifeline for businesses and our staff have been working tirelessly to get these schemes live,” he said.

Applications can be made for the following schemes from these dates:

  • LRSG (Open) grant goes live on Thursday (28 January)
  • Closed Businesses Lockdown Payment from Monday 1 February
  • LRSG Closed Addendum (5 January onwards) - goes live on Monday 1 February
  • Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) – opens Thursday 4 February
