Get set for Summer at Exeter Quayside with free family events

Published: 25 July 2023

Free summer fun on the Quay

Families looking for something to do over the summer holidays can get down to Exeter Quay for a whole host of free family activities.

The programme of activity has been organised by Exeter Custom House and takes place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Everyone is welcome and no bookings are needed.

This summer’s events follow a successful programme last year. The Transit Shed will again be home to a jam-packed programme of fun and quirky activities for all the family and it all starts on Wednesday 26 July with Literature Works, from 11am to 2pm.

Clive PiG - aka Mister Storyfella, is a storyteller, poet, songster and potato juggler. Get down to the Quay to hear his collection of laughable legends and fabulous folktales. Those who can’t make Wednesday have other opportunities to catch Clive PiG throughout the summer at other sessions.

Next up will be Prom Prom on Tuesday 1 August, from 11am to 3pm. This will be a chance to marvel and giggle in equal measure at flea circuses, street circus shows, storytelling, seaside games and much more, for the young and young at heart.

Other activities throughout the summer include pop up pottery painting, Exeter Quayside Story Trail, dance and theatre workshops, willow weaving, puppetry, print workshops, drum sessions, stilt walking and much more.
