Get into the festive spirit at RAMM – Exeter’s popular museum Get into the festive spirit at RAMM

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas down at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery.

The popular museum on Queen Street, Exeter, is getting all Christmassy, with hot drinks in the café, wintery gifts in the shop and seasonal events for kids and grown-ups.

Escape the High Street crowds and come to the Shop at RAMM this Christmas. A unique selection of hand-picked gifts, artists’ prints, books, cards and children’s toys await in the bright and attractive gallery shop.

The range reflects RAMM, its collections and exhibitions. From local to global, games and puzzles to stunning jewellery, visitors can be sure to find something for everyone. A selection from the shop is also available online.

And that’s not all. Mention the December Connect promotion when purchasing Christmas cards, 2024 calendars or Advent calendars and shoppers receive a 20% discount. It’s a great way to support RAMM and save money on Christmas this year! Offer available in-store only.

Thinking of something a bit different this Christmas, then why not give a Friends of RAMM membership. Recipients can enjoy a varied programme of talks, visits and get-togethers all year long. From £20 for an annual subscription. Available to purchase online.

In the lead up to the big day, RAMM will be hosting a series of events to get people in the Christmas spirit.

On Tuesday 19 December the museum will be running a Kids crafts workshop making glowing festive lanterns. The session runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm and costs £3.50 per child. Just drop in – last entry at 3pm.

That’s followed by another kids crafts session on Wednesday 20 December and the chance to make festive wildlife decorations. The session runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm and costs £3.50 per child. Just drop in – last entry 3pm.

Finally on Thursday and Friday 21 and 22 December, there’s a chance to meet characters from the past!  Travel back to the earliest days of Yuletide merriment to see what RAMM’s resident Roman soldier might have thought about the new celebration. There’s also the chance of bumping into RAMM’s World War Two warden and Victorian lady collector. The session runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm and is free to attend. Just drop in.
