Free tennis sessions are set to return to the public tennis courts across the city this weekend.

The Tennis For Free (TFF) sessions will start up again on Saturday 17 April on the City Council-run courts at Heavitree Pleasure Ground and at Cowick Barton Playing Fields in St Thomas.

The sessions will run from 9am to 10am every Saturday throughout the spring and summer.

At Cowick Barton, the sessions will be delivered by Tennis for Free Lead Coach Steve Ashton. And at Heavitree, LTA coach Bradley Rickard will be running the sessions.

Due to a gradual easing back into tennis group activity, the initial sessions will be for over-12s. This hopefully will change later in the coming weeks.

Steve said: “We are really looking forward to getting back on court with the Tennis for FREE sessions. They have always been well supported throughout the two to three years that we have been running them, it’s absolutely fantastic to be back.”

Bradley added: “"We are all set and ready to go again at Heavitree, please use the links to book in and we look forward to seeing you soon."

The sessions are completely free, all equipment is provided and no tennis experience is necessary.

To get involved go to the specific location’s website at either https://cowickbarton.courtline.net/  or https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/HeavitreePleasureGround

and register for FREE and book onto the weekly sessions.

The weekly sessions are run by national sports charity Tennis For Free in partnership with the LTA and Exeter City Council.
