Fancy a pip and pint – join a free bat walk Pips and Pints

Bat enthusiasts are being invited to take part in a free guided walk around an Exeter cemetery looking for pipistrelles and ending with a pint!

Pips and Pints is the name of a local bat walk being organised by the Devon Wildlife Trust.

The event takes place at 8.30pm on Thursday 9 May at Catacombs Park in the heart of the city. No booking is necessary.

Those attending will be listening for bats around the cemetery and beyond, using bat detectors.

The event is suitable for families (children must be accompanied by an adult) and those starting out at bat detecting. A number of bat detectors will be available although people are welcome to bring along their own. Dogs are not permitted on the walk.

People are advised to bring a torch and wear suitable footwear. The event will finish at around 10.15pm, followed by an optional visit to the pub.

This is a joint event with the Devon Bat Group and Devon Mammal Group with thanks to Exeter City Council.
