Exeter will be featured on national television at the weekend after an episode of the popular Songs of Praise programme was recently filmed in the city.

The episode on Sunday features presenter Aled Jones exploring Exeter’s Underground Passages, and discovering how it was built to bring water from St Sidwell’s Well to the Cathedral.

The programme features Mark Edwards, a cyclist who makes a 25 mile round trip every Sunday to deliver DVDs to fellow members of his church’s congregation who don’t have access to its online services.

To mark Dementia Action Week, YolanDa Brown meets Jo Earlam, a local woman who has mapped the city to create safe routes to encourage those living with dementia to get out and about.

It also tells the story of St David’s Church, which turned lockdown into an opportunity for a different sort of Bible study group.

Songs of Praise from Exeter will be airing on Sunday 16 May, at 13.15pm on BBC One and will be available to watch online afterwards at BBC One - Songs of Praise, Exeter
