Exeter prepares to welcome shoppers back to city centre

Shops, pubs and restaurants are preparing to welcome people back to Exeter city centre this week as the national ‘lockdown’ ends.

Wednesday (2 December) will see shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes reopen as Exeter enters Tier Two restrictions.

People are being asked to follow government guidelines and adopt the ‘Hands, Face, Space’ philosophy whilst visiting the city centre.

Actors from Le Navet Bete, starring in the Exeter Northcott’s Treasure Island production were in Gandy Street recently to remind people about the measures being put in place to keep people safe whilst shopping in Exeter.

A variety of pavement stencils, overhead banners and street signs remind people to wash their hands regularly, wear a mask in shops and whilst away from their table in restaurants, cafes and pubs, and keep your distance whilst around other people.

More info about Treasure Island & ticket bookings can be found on the Exeter Northcott website: https://www.exeternorthcott.co.uk/events/treasure-island
