Staff at Exeter Food Bank were able to give out a little extra cheer over the festive period, thanks to the generosity of Exeter Corn Exchange and the Christmas panto, Cinderella.

One hundred tickets were handed out by the Food Bank to people using the facility.

The tickets were donated by Kickline, the pantomime production company, in conjunction with the City Council run venue.

Dave Lewis, the Council’s service lead with responsibility for the venue, said he had suggested to Kickline that they might want to offer a few tickets to local people struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Kickline responded saying they would love to make 100 tickets available for distribution by the Food Bank staff.

Dave said: “It was such a nice response from the pantomime team. Their sales were back to pre-pandemic levels, but there are always some seats left unsold, and we couldn’t think of a better way of to make sure that the pantomime was enjoyed by families who might otherwise not be able to attend.”

He added: “The Food Bank staff were brilliant, they knew there would be a demand and they jumped at the chance to be able to give out the tickets.  They do an incredible job and so it was nice to be able to help in a small way.  We hope those who received the tickets enjoyed their day out at the theatre.”
