Exeter Jobs Fair declared a success

More than 1,000 job seekers attended the latest Exeter Jobs Fair.

Those looking for work came from across Devon and further afield. Employers at yesterday’s event reported a strong selection of candidates which they are now following up on.

The Jobs Fair was organised in partnership between Exeter City Council and Jobcentre Plus. Fifty-two employers attended the popular event at Exeter Corn Exchange, including training and apprenticeship companies.

New to yesterday’s event and proving popular with job seekers, was a career support zone.

This included details of training companies, advice for military veterans, probation support, childcare advice and a jobs board with vacancies from companies that weren’t able to attend. Volunteering opportunities were also publicised to help people build experience.

Another event in Exeter is being organised for next Spring.
