Exeter holds virtual Armed Forces Day Armed Forces Day

The Council will mark Armed Forces Day virtually again this year with messages released on social media.

Exeter usually celebrates Armed Forces Day the week before the National Armed Forces Day, which unfortunately still falls in the period where large events are not able to take place.

The decision was taken to revert to another virtual event this year, particularly as Government advice is to avoid large gatherings.

This will be disappointing for many, but the safety of those taking part is the top priority.

The Armed Forces Flag is being raised at the Guildhall from Friday 18 June, for two weeks, and messages will be released on Saturday, the 19 June, at 11am, on our social media accounts.

Messages will be available to view on the Facebook page for the Lord Mayor of Exeter: www.facebook.com/LMExeter

Armed Forces 2022 which will be taking place on Saturday, 18 June 2022. It is hoped this will be a large event for the City as The Rifles, led by the 6 RIFLES, will be exercising their Freedom of the City over that weekend.
