Exeter bursts into life at the weekend with live music, dance performances and workshops as Exeter Respect Festival celebrates its 26th anniversary.

The popular two-day Festival celebrates diversity and inclusivity and takes place on Saturday and Sunday (10 and 11 June) in Belmont Park.

Aimed to bring communities together to celebrate differences and commonalities, this year’s theme is ‘Diversity Built Britain’.

The outdoor stages and open mic will provide a kaleidoscope of performances. Distinguished stars Revelation Roots and Reggae Musicians will be performing on the Saturday, and Batch Gueye Band a Senegalese group from Bristol will be bringing the heart of West Africa to Exeter on the Sunday, ending the show with a collective workshop to dance to the rhythm of West Africa.

There will outdoor processions and activities for everyone of all ages, plus opportunities to sample a wealth of stalls, providing everything from global food to fine clothing and handmade crafts, plus information about local communities and organisations, all delivered with a very genuine smile.

The festival once more will be alcohol free. Instead of alcohol, Nova Bar will bring their non-alcoholic cocktails for everyone to enjoy.  To sustain the festival there will be an entrance fee for each day of £2, under 16s are free.
