Enjoy a cream tea and help support FORCE Cancer Charity

Published: 1 June 2023

People are being asked to support FORCE Cancer Charity by ordering a cream and raising money for the Lord Mayor of Exeter’s chosen charity.

Cream Teas for Cancer is back again this year and takes place on 6 July. People can book their cream tea in advance and have it delivered on the day.

This scrumptious treat ticks all the boxes for businesses, friends and families to get behind and show their support for FORCE while spending some quality time together, having fun and making the whole cream tea experience one to remember!

Started in 2018, this event has raised over £28,000 enabling FORCE to continue supporting patients and their loved ones come to terms with a cancer diagnosis.

FORCE said “We want to make 2023 the year we take this magical total over the £30,000 mark but we need your support to do this. So simply why not get the team together or a number of your mates and join us for this scrumptious fundraiser on Thursday 6 July.”

For JUST a £6 donation, each cream tea this year will come in a paper carrier bag and will include two delicious scones from Ryders Bakery, Devon clotted cream from Langage Farm, luscious strawberry jam from Waterhouse Fayre and tea from Miles Tea and Coffee Merchants

All cream teas will be delivered by FORCE representatives on Thursday 6 July between 12 and 3pm unless otherwise stated. FORCE can cater for gluten free scones. Please specify when ordering at Cream Teas for Cancer - FORCE Cancer Charity

The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Cllr Kevin Mitchell, said being able to enjoy a cream team and at the same time support such a worthwhile cause, was a great idea.

“As a cancer nurse, I know the fantastic work that FORCE do to support people following a cancer diagnosis. This can only be achieved through the generosity of the public and local businesses and the fantastic donations that they make. What better way to support FORCE than by enjoying a cream tea in the height of summer?”
