Double Elephant Print Workshop Botanical Summer School Double Elephant Print Workshop

Double Elephant Print Workshop has launched a new summer Botanical Print Summer School, bringing together creative practice, printmaking and nature.

With support from Devon Community Foundation’s Thrive with Five funding and in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust, the programme offer a variety of artist-led print workshops designed to deepen participants' understanding of both botanical forms and printmaking processes.

Over 28 workshops will take place during July and August, not only at Double Elephant’s studios but also in a range of community centres, bookshops, libraries and public outdoor spaces.

To keep the project as accessible as possible, Double Elephant have ensured workshops have a range of prices - participants can join a two-hour workshop for £3 or invest in a £150 weekend two day course in their studio.

Botanical Print Summer School highlights:

  • Nature-inspired printmaking techniques: Participants can choose from a huge range of techniques such as monotypes, monoprints, collagraphs, lino, stamps, etching, embossing, screenprint and cyanotypes.
  • Expert guidance for all ages and abilities: The Botanical Print Summer School features ten talented artist printmaker tutors teaching the processes they use in their own practice. There are family, adults-only, drop-in and sessions suitable for all abilities.
  • Field trips and botanical walks: In collaboration with Devon Wildlife Trust, the sessions include botanical walks and talks. Participants will have the opportunity to explore nearby gardens, parks, and natural landscapes, observing botanical specimens firsthand, providing a rich source of inspiration for their printmaking projects.

Double Elephant Print Workshop invites artists, nature enthusiasts, and individuals passionate about exploring the intricate relationship between art and botanical forms to participate in the Botanical Print Summer School.
