Diversion in place as new Kings Arm Swing Bridge works are completed

Published: 24 June 2019

Work is being carried out to the new bridge

Work is nearing completion on the replacement of the Kings Arms Swing Bridge near Exeter Quay.

The new 15-metre span steel structure has now been lifted into place, and to enable the path to be reinstated on either side of the crossing, the paths leading to the pedestrian swing bridge will need to be closed for four days this week.

The path near the bridge will be closed from 7:30am on Tuesday (25 June) and is expected to reopen for Saturday morning (29 June).

A signed diversion will be in place, advising people to use the route around the Quay, using Cricklepit footbridge.

Once work has been completed on the bridge, a short period of testing will be needed before the bridge is open to the public in early July.
