Devon Wildlife Trust Invites Families for Nature Fun Days at Mincinglake Park Nature Fun Days at Mincinglake Park

Devon Wildlife Trust has organised a series of ‘family fun days’ in Mincinglake Valley Park during the school holidays. The first one is on Wednesday 9 August.

Mincinglake Valley Park is one of six Valley Parks managed by Devon Wildlife Trust on behalf of Exeter City Council.

Each event will feature a different nature-themed activity and will inspire families to discover the wildlife which makes its home in the urban green space.

The events are free and take place on Wednesday 9, 16 and 23 August from 10.30am till 12.30pm.

The family fun days are being run thanks to support from Players of People’s Postcode Lottery. They form part of Devon Wildlife Trust’s ongoing work encouraging children and their families to get outdoors to explore, learn and enjoy nature in the city.

Devon Wildlife Trust’s Emily Bacon runs the People’s Postcode Project in Exeter. She said: “There are different family fun activities each week from bug hunting to nature art. The activities will be aimed at all ages, so bring the whole family along and enjoy family time together outdoors. If the weather smiles on us, why not bring a picnic for afterwards too?”

The events will take place near Sylvania Community Hall, close to the Stoke Hill road entrance and car park, Mincinglake Valley Park.

Visitors are encouraged to walk or cycle, though some parking will be available. Young people under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
