Death of former Mayor John Holman

Former Mayor and Honorary Alderman for the city of Exeter John Holman has sadly passed away.

He died peacefully in his sleep at the weekend.

John was first elected as a City Councillor in the Pennsylvania ward in 1984 and served 16 years until May 2002.

In 1997 he became Mayor of Exeter and in 2011 he was made an Honorary Alderman.

During his time as a City Councillor he served on most committees and was on a number of working groups and outside bodies.
