Consultation on our proposed new Resident Involvement Strategy

Published: 23 September 2020

Resident Involvement Strategy Resident Involvement Strategy

Your views are wanted in a consultation on the Council’s proposed new Resident Involvement Strategy.

The consultation is open to all but we welcome especially the views of our tenants and leaseholders on how you would like us to work with you in the future.

We believe that working with residents on issues to do with their homes and neighbourhoods should be a part of how we plan and deliver our services. It is important that we are doing the right things and using our resources in the best possible way.

Our last strategy Tenant and Leaseholder Involvement and Communication Strategy 2016 – 2020, is due to run out this year.

We need to update it but we are also mindful that there have been changes in the housing landscape over the last four years.

The Government’s Housing Green Paper of 2018 stressed the importance of empowering communities and celebrating thriving neighbourhoods. We are committed to building great neighbourhoods.

We think we can improve how we inform, communicate with, and involve residents in what we do. This Strategy is how we intend to do that.

The draft Resident Involvement Strategy document is available here or can be downloaded from our website.

The consultation runs for four weeks, from 23 September to 21 October.

We would like to receive feedback via the online survey.

You can also email your feedback to: resident.involvement@exeter.gov.uk or in writing to Resident Involvement Strategy Consultation, Housing Service, Exeter City Council, Civic Centre, Paris Street, Exeter, EX1 1JN
