Construction work continues to progress well to create a new leisure complex and new Exeter bus station in the city centre.

St Sidwell's Point, which will become the city's new super energy-efficient swimming pool and leisure complex when it opens this summer, is being built alongside Exeter's new bus station.

Both projects are being built by Kier.

As St Sidwell's Point, the external wall finishes and curtain walling continues to be installed around the building.

The structure has now progressed significantly to allow the fit out internally to move forward.

Internal walls are constructed and the mechanical and electrical pipe and ductwork installations are progressing.

All the major plant items such as air conditioning units are installed.

Tiling to the changing villages is being fixed and the pool tanks are also starting to be tiled. The gas, water and electrical connections to the building will be completed over the next six weeks.

At the new Exeter Bus Station, the main construction and the bus apron are virtually complete, and the operator is gearing up for their fit out.

The highways works which allow the revised access for buses around this part of the city have now started and will progress over the next few months.

Both projects are expected to open this summer.
