Community groups invited to apply for funds from Exeter Community Energy Exeter Community Energy (ECOE)

Exeter Community Energy (ECOE) has opened applications for the sixth year of its Community Fund which will offer £5,000 to local community groups.

The fund supports groups to apply for financing for projects that help to save energy and/or help to alleviate fuel poverty.

ECOE is a community benefit company, supported by the City Council, which aims to develop community-owned renewable energy projects in Exeter, creating a local green energy supply that improves Exeter’s energy security and resilience.

The ECOE Community Fund allocates resources from ECOE’s Solar PV 1, 2 and 3 and Healthy Homes for Wellbeing projects to benefit community groups. Members can also donate their own interest payments to the community fund.

ECOE’s 10 solar power installations have generated more than 1.8GWh to date and saved more than 514 tonnes of carbon.

During the 20 years lifespan of the projects, it expects to make more than £170,000 available to the Community Fund.

Local community groups can now apply for funding for energy saving projects.

To find out who can apply for what and the criteria for allocating grants read the Guidance notes.

All applications are checked to ensure they meet the criteria. A group made up of ECOE members, directors and partners from rooftop solar sites, local community groups and local statutory organisations will judge the applications.

To be part of that group volunteer at info@ecoe.org.uk.

Community groups can make an application for funds using an Application form from ECOE.
