Candidates announced for Exeter City Council elections Are you registered to vote?

Candidates for next month’s Exeter City Council elections have been published.

All those standing for the City Council on 2 May can now be seen on the City Council website at exeter.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/elections-and-voting/2024-city-elections/election-notices/

Elections take place in the city on Thursday 2 May for Exeter City Council, as well as the Police and Crime Commissioner for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Polling stations will be open across the city from 7am to 10pm.

People will need to be on the electoral register to vote in the elections. There’s still time for people to get themselves on the register but the deadline for these elections is Tuesday 16 April. It’s very simple to register to vote. Just go to the Electoral Commission website at electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/register-vote-and-update-your-details

Whilst some people decide to vote in person at a polling station, others opt for a postal vote.

Don’t worry, there’s still time to apply for a postal vote. However, time is running out and all applications must be received by the City Council by 5pm on Wednesday 17 April.

Registering for a postal vote is easy and can be done online on the City Council website at exeter.gov.uk/postalvotes
