The latest consultation meeting on plans for a new Exeter bus station has taken place in the city.

Bus user and passenger groups, representatives from the bus and coach industry and other stakeholders met leading councillors and those involved in designing the new facility for a meeting at the Civic Centre.

A wide range of issues were discussed at the meeting, which is part of the ongoing consultation to ensure that Exeter gets the best possible facility when the current site is redeveloped.

A planning application has been submitted for a new Exeter bus station, and a decision is expected to be made by members of the council’s planning committee early in October.

Councillor Phil Bialyk, who chaired the meeting, said the latest consultation discussions were productive and comprehensive.

Cllr Bialyk, portfolio holder for Sport as well as Health and Wellbeing, said: “These meetings are important in getting the opinions of bus users and a wide range of interested parties. We are continuing to work hard to ensure Exeter gets the best possible new bus station as part of the exciting new development planned for the current site.”
