Bank Holiday changes to bin collections

Published: 1 May 2020

Waste and recycling FAQs Bank Holiday changes to bin collections

To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, this year’s May bank holiday has been moved from Monday 4th May to Friday 8th May.

Bins due for collection on Monday 4th May will still be collected on Monday 4th May.

Bins due for collection on Friday 8th May will now be collected on Saturday 9th May.

Please put your bins out after 6pm the night before or by 6am on the day of collection.

You can find out when your bin is collected on our website by simply entering your post code or you can sign up to our Bin Reminder service to receive emails reminding you when to put your refuse, recycling and garden waste* bins out for collection.

You’ll receive emails the night before your next collection day to remind you to put out the correct type of waste.

If your collection is affected by bank holidays we'll remind you the night before not to put your bin out, and then the night before your changed collection day we'll email you again to remind you to put your bin out.
