Arrangements for Christmas tree disposals in New Year
Published: 1 December 2022
People in Exeter are being given the opportunity to book a collection of their real Christmas tree in advance of the decorations coming down in the New Year.
The service is being offered by Hospiscare in return for a donation to the charity. To find out more, go to Hospiscare’s website at https://www.hospiscare.co.uk/events/christmas-tree-recycling/
Exeter City Council’s garden waste customers can have their real Christmas trees collected as part of the service in the New Year. All they have to do is put their tree out for collection with or without their brown bin on the date of their first garden collection of the year. Collections begin again on 23 January. Go to the City Council website at http://www.exeter.gov.uk/bincollections for specific dates.
Alternatively, trees can be taken to one of Devon County Council’s recycling centres in Exeter – either in Marsh Barton or Pinbrook Road.
People are being reminded that they won’t be able to put their real Christmas trees out for normal black bins collections.
Neither is the City Council providing drop-off points for used Christmas trees, so leaving a tree in a public space is considered fly tipping.
