Access to two city centre car parks is changing Access arrangements to these two car parks are about to change

Access to two city centre car parks is changing later this month to facilitate highways works necessary for the redevelopment of Exeter Bus Station.

From Thursday 24 January, vehicles will no longer be able to access the main Princesshay car park and the Princesshay 3 Broadwalk House car park from Paris Street.

Instead, access will be from Southernhay, via Magdalen Street and Southernhay West, or Western Way and Barnfield Road.

Vehicles will continue to be able to exit via Paris Street.

Access to Princesshay 2 Dix’s Field car park is unaffected.

The works necessary to change the access will require some overnight road closures on both Southernhay East and West to the north of Barnfield Road, and on Dix’s Field from the junction with Paris Street, from 14 January to 23 January.

Access will be retained to all properties and facilities as far as possible.

Works overnight will take place in Southernhay East and West from 14 January to 17 January, and at Dix’s Field on 18, 21 and 22 January.

There will also be day time lane closures and night time road closures in Paris Street, with diversions set up. Day time lane closures will be in operation from 7am to 7pm from 11 February to 14 March, with night time closures, from 7pm to 7am, from 11 February to 20 February.

The contractor has pledged wherever possible to maintain access to properties and businesses at all times and to keep inconvenience to a minimum, although some interruption may be unavoidable.
