A new pop up café run by Wellbeing Exeter is proving to be a big hit with residents.

The Wellbeing Cafe opened at 6 Paris Street (just up from Shopmobility) on Monday. It will stay open until Saturday, 2 November, from 11am to 3pm each day.

Staff from Wellbeing Exeter have been welcoming and listening to residents, while linking and showcasing some of the fantastic community groups and activities in Exeter.

Wellbeing Exeter works to strengthen community connections and networks across the city. A series of fun activities are being held throughout the week and are open to all who would like to drop-in.

Cllr Amal Ghusain, Portfolio Holder for Equality, Diversity & Communities, welcomed the opening of the café after dropping in for a visit.

She said: “This is a great example of the kind of community activity that we are actively encouraging in Exeter. When people work together in communities they can achieve great things.

“There’s a range of fun activities during the week, and I hope as many people as possible will come along for a chat and to find out what is on offer.”

Wellbeing Exeter is a partnership of public, voluntary and community sector organisations who have come together to explore better ways of supporting the 40 per cent of patients who visit their GP with socially-based rather than medical problems.

It has led the way on social prescribing, enabling individuals and communities to improve and promote their own health and wellbeing.

Wellbeing Exeter is funded by Exeter City Council, Devon County Council and the New Devon Clinical Commissioning Group.
