Warm up your home with new energy efficiency grant

People in Exeter who want to improve the warmth and comfort of their homes may be able to take advantage of up to £1,000 in grant funding.
The Exeter Energy Grant is being offered by the City Council for improvements to homes, with money coming from the Government’s UK Prosperity Fund.
The aim of the grant is to make homes warmer and more comfortable but at the same time reduce energy bills, carbon emissions and levels of fuel poverty.
In Exeter, the aim is to improve the least energy efficient homes across the city. Exeter City Council is working to become Net Zero by 2030.
Grants are available for those who own or rent a home, with those who live in social housing not eligible. Works could include:
- Buying new LED Light bulbs
- Window replacements
- Draught proofing
- Radiator reflector panels
- Double glazing
- Loft insulation
- Insulation of hot water tanks and pipes
- Boiler servicing
- Thermostatic radiator valves
Cllr Matt Vizard, Lead Councillor for Climate, Ecological Change and Communities, said the grants were a great opportunity for people in Exeter to make their homes more energy efficient.
“Just a few simple improvements can save people money on their energy bills and make the home much warmer and more comfortable, while making an important contribution to the City’s Net Zero 2030 ambitions,” he added.
The grants support homes most in need, particularly those that may not be eligible for the other government support.
Any household with an income less than £34,174 for a one person household or £68,348 for a two person household is eligible.
Homes should have an Energy Performance rating under 10 years old, of either D, E, F, or G.
