Unauthorised encampment at city playing fields

Legal proceedings are underway to evict a group taking part in an unauthorised encampment at playing fields in Exeter.
Following the start of the encampment at King George V Playing Field, in Countess Wear, proceedings were issued at Exeter County Court on Friday, 2 August. Permission was granted for a hearing on Wednesday, 7 August.
Notice was served on the first day of the occupation.
The play park remains closed at this time, and we apologise for an inconvenience this has caused.
Officers are continuing to monitor the situation.
