Take glass home if the bottle banks are full

Published: 2 April 2020

Glass Bottle Banks Glass Bottle Banks

Our recycling team is urging residents to please take their glass home again if the bottle banks are full.

Nobody should leave glass on the ground.

This is important for the health and safety of the public and our crews – now more so than ever.

You may notice the notice in this picture appearing on bottle banks around the city.

It’s clear that waste collection services are going to be running at the limit of their capacity at the moment, and clearing extra waste from recycling bank sites may cause delays in other vital areas of our service. Everyone needs to do their bit to manage their waste and reduce unnecessary risk.

We will continue to empty the banks as regularly as current circumstances permit, but please help us to keep on top of the situation.
