Skate Jam set for Saturday
Published: 1 April 2019
Skatepark users will be out in force on Saturday as Exeter’s newest facility – Exeter Arena Skatepark – holds an Opening Jam event.
The event will feature music, pro-rider demonstrations and competitions for all ages and abilities - scoot, skate and BMX – with lots of great prizes and giveaways.
There’s no need to register beforehand, just turn up on the day. Everyone is welcome to attend and it’s all free of charge.
Action gets under way at 12 and runs throughout the day until 4pm. The event has been organised by Exeter City Council and designers Maverick.
Exeter Arena Skatepark opened to the public in December after a complete revamp and makeover. The new facility is already proving popular and contains ramps, quarter pipes, flatbanks, ledges and rails. The plaza design also features a viewing/seating area overlooking the action and floodlights.
The design of the skatepark was chosen by a group of local skatepark users.
